How do I report unsporting behaviour?

Report harassment, spam, aborted games and other unsporting behaviour.

World Chess expects all players to be respectful and show good sportsmanship. Unsporting behaviour includes harassment or offensive language, spam, stalling, intentionally disconnecting or aborting games, joining a tournament without intending to play, and sharing accounts. See the World Chess Sportsmanship Policy for the full list.

To report unsporting behaviour, email support@worldchess.com and include:

  • your username and the username of the player you are reporting

  • the game link or the tournament name

  • a detailed description of what happened

  • screenshots, if you have them

Please do not accuse players publicly. Raise your concerns with us privately.

To report cheating, use the report form instead. See How do I report unfair play?

What happens next
If our team confirms a violation, the player’s account may be suspended for 24 hours or more. The arbitrator decides the length and severity of the sanction. We try to contact the player before acting, but this is not guaranteed in severe cases.
