How can I change my personal info?

Changing your profile, name, photo, and other info on World Chess

Updated this week

Your information helps your opponents to know who they are playing against, and also it’s your player’s card on the official FIDE gaming platform. We recommend using your real name and photo, in line with FIDE regulations, but photos can still be creative to reflect your personality!

When you upgrade to a PRO to start playing for the FOA rating recognized by FIDE and to receive FIDE ID, you will be asked for your real name and other personal info for verification. Here is a guide on verification.

No matter if you are a Basic or PRO subscriber, you can manage your information in your Arena profile. Just click on your name in the menu.

However, there are some differences for verified and not verified customers. If you subscribed for a Basic plan, you'll be able to edit most of your info. If you are a PRO with a verified FIDE id, you'll see that the most of the info is locked.

But no worries, you can always contact us if something changes. One of our team members will edit info for you. If that is not a typo or a minor change, we'll need is a prove that corrections you'd like to make are real.

For exaple,

If your name is Maria and you have leagaly changed it to Helen, we'll need a paper that proves it.

If your name is Maria, but you have accidentally put it as Marria, no provement will be needed.

Once your name is linked to the FIDE ID and FIDE profile, you will be able to change your details via support@chessarena.com. FIDE regulations also allow for minor adjustments, such as omitting your middle name, while ensuring that your first and last names remain accurate and consistent with your FIDE ID. Changes that deviate from these rules are not permitted.
