The subscription is for those who want to play online-rated games and work towards getting FOA Titles recognized by FIDE. World Chess has moved from a simple two-tier membership system (“Free” and “Pro”) to a new multi-level subscription structure designed to give players more flexibility and clearer feature access.

Current PRO subscribers will automatically be moved to the Platinum plan with no interruption to their subscription. Pricing for current PRO members remains unchanged at $5.99/month or $49.99/year.
You might be eligible for a free Pro subscription if you are an offline player titled with WIM / IM / WGM / GM.
Titled offline players will be assigned a free online pro membership.
